I’m honored to support your process. I work with your system body/mind/soul and beyond to promote transformation and expansion. Whether you’re looking to gain freedom from pain or anxiety, sleeplessness, or foster a better sense of health and connection, we can work toward these shifts. Unresolved or mysterious health issues can be addressed, as can the challenges of transitions or paradigm shifts. If you’re looking to let go of patterns that no longer serve you, we can work toward a greater sense of ease and competency practicing supportive ways of being. My work offers relief to your nervous system, in turn promoting pain relief, rehabilitation, personal renewal, and relaxation.
I completed the three-year training to become a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) in January 2022. I completed post-advanced training working with medical trauma & near death experiences (Eye of the Needle 1 & 2). I am a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT #83096) by the State of California. My training includes the 550 hour Integrative Energy & Bodyworker Program from the Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing (IPSB) in Culver City, California. I’m trained in over 150 hours of Craniosacral Unwinding with Gary Strauss of Life Energy Institute as well as Upledger Craniosacral Therapy (CST-1 & 2). I’ve completed further studies with medical intuitive, Marie Manucherhi.
For SE students, I am an approved personal session provider at the beginning level. I am a member of Somatic Experiencing International and assist trainings throughout the US. I am also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and the Energy Medicine Professional Association.
I grew up on the east coast and have been living in California since 2005. My interest in holding space for people to process and transform came from my own trials of living with childhood trauma that included losing my mother to cancer at age 12. I know what it feels like to believe that change is not possible, that our issues are too deep, too big, or too unknowable to change. Through working with the model of Somatic Experiencing, I came to find a far more liberated sense of self, with an ability to be with a whole range of feelings, memories, and experiences that were previously too overwhelming. I’ve built my practice in order to hold space for others’ process, using the framework of Somatic Experiencing. I studied bodywork to inform working closely with the anatomy and physiology of individuals, whether through touch or guided movement. My study of bodywork lead to exploring Craniosacral work, which I was immediately drawn to as it naturally weaves with resonance of nervous system regulation, deep listening, and honoring each individuals’ process. I believe the combination of Somatic Experiencing and Craniosacral work can be powerfully transformative, while maintaining the balance of pacing and ease.
I am a white queer person of Jewish ancestry. I espouse a genderqueer ethos. My pronouns are they/them. I’m interested in providing a safe space for all humans in my practice. Communities of focus include queer, trans, gender non-conforming, and non-binary folks.
Modalities offered include Craniosacral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing®, and Sensory Repatterning. Sessions are tailored to support your goals and individual desires. I offer sessions in person in northeast Los Angeles and online from anywhere.
Primarily, my sessions are comprised of Somatic Experiencing to root into our felt sense in the present moment, along with or followed by light touch hands-on bodywork, including Craniosacral Therapy. This combination is especially potent in providing tools for personal growth and expansion while supporting pain relief and relaxation. We can also work with Sensory Repatterning passive joint mobilization in order to promote flow and move out stagnation. All work is done fully clothed. Work may also be done remotely, via talk, self touch, guided movement, and field-related energetic exchange.
Somatic Experiencing® is a potent method for resolving symptoms of nervous system interruption, chronic stress, and trauma, developed by Dr. Peter Levine and later augmented by the work of Dr. Stephen Porges. Trauma may be defined as anything that is too much or too big or too fast for our nervous system to process at once. Traumatic experience, no matter from what cause, is processed through the body, where the energy of survival is stored. If the survival energy from traumatic experience is left unprocessed, it can lead to long-standing nervous system disruption. This can show up as anxiety, persistent physical discomforts, disconnection, exhaustion, overwhelm, emotional responses that don't make sense, mysterious injuries or wounds that won't heal. Somatic Experiencing may support you in learning how to identify resources and build capacity to presently tune in to uncomfortable sensations in your body. Through conscious attention and noticing, the trauma energy may be metabolized or integrated toward completion. We can explore which tools are most effective and comfortable, including talk, touch, exploration of images, thoughts, emotions, and movements of the body. Very often this process helps people find a new equilibrium, a greater sense of regulation, connection, and presence in their lives.
Craniosacral Therapy works to evaluate and enhance the body’s natural process and rhythm. It is at once physiological—relating to the Craniosacral system comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord—and energetic, perceiving the qualities of this rhythm that the body reveals. The work can be done through light touch and specific holds on the body or at a distance in the field. By honoring your innate intelligence, deep listening, following, and gentle guidance, we may restore flow to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. Craniosacral Therapy offers multidimensional relief by complementing the body's natural processes.
Sensory Repatterning is a motion-based technique that explores the natural movement of each individual through rhythmic rocking, cradling, and passive joint movement. Sensory Repatterning can be deeply relaxing, meditative, and reminds the body of its potential for movement. The idea is to present to the body a feeling of freedom from the limits it has set for itself by its own mental programming.
$150 suggested for 60 minutes. $108-218 sliding scale.
If you are unsure where you fall on this scale, a general idea is that the true cost is the suggested price, the top of the scale is a pay-it-forward price for those who can afford to support those who pay the bottom of the scale and are in need of financial assistance. This is an honor system.
As I believe that nervous system and trauma care should be for all, contact me if the above rates are prohibitive.
